Ultimate Chocolate Lava Cake
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1 and 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups milk
- 2 and 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon coffee
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- a pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the oil and sugar, and mix until well combined.
- Add the cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking powder, vanilla extract, coffee, vinegar, and salt to the egg mixture, and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the milk and flour to the mixture, alternating between the two, and continue mixing until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the chocolate sauce by melting chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave.
- Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the chocolate sauce over the top and serve.
