Soft custard pastries

Ingredients

  • for the Dough:
  • 1 cube of Yeast
  • 250ml lukewarm Milk
  • 4 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 100ml Oil
  • 2 Egg Whites (2 Egg Yolks for brushing)
  • Approximately 650g Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • Filling:
  • 1 packet Vanilla Pudding (prepared according to package instructions)
  • For Brushing:
  • 120g softened Butter
  • Additionally:
  • Powdered Sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the yeast with lukewarm milk and let it sit for a few minutes until it activates.
  2. Add powdered sugar, oil, and egg whites to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour and salt into the mixture, kneading until you have a soft dough.
  4. Allow the dough to rise by covering it and letting it rest for about 30 minutes.
  5. While the dough is resting, prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package instructions.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  8. Spoon the prepared vanilla pudding onto the dough and spread it out.
  9. Roll the dough tightly from the longer side, creating a log.
  10. Slice the log into individual pieces and place them on a baking sheet.
  11. Brush the tops with beaten egg yolks for a golden finish.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for approximately 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Once baked, dust with powdered sugar for a delightful finish.
