Soft custard pastries
Ingredients
- for the Dough:
- 1 cube of Yeast
- 250ml lukewarm Milk
- 4 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
- 100ml Oil
- 2 Egg Whites (2 Egg Yolks for brushing)
- Approximately 650g Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Filling:
- 1 packet Vanilla Pudding (prepared according to package instructions)
- For Brushing:
- 120g softened Butter
- Additionally:
- Powdered Sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the yeast with lukewarm milk and let it sit for a few minutes until it activates.
- Add powdered sugar, oil, and egg whites to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually incorporate flour and salt into the mixture, kneading until you have a soft dough.
- Allow the dough to rise by covering it and letting it rest for about 30 minutes.
- While the dough is resting, prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package instructions.
- Roll out the risen dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
- Spoon the prepared vanilla pudding onto the dough and spread it out.
- Roll the dough tightly from the longer side, creating a log.
- Slice the log into individual pieces and place them on a baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg yolks for a golden finish.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for approximately 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once baked, dust with powdered sugar for a delightful finish.
