Nutty Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • For the Cake:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • For the Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream (33%)
  • 3.5 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add milk and vegetable oil. Combine flour and baking powder (sift it). Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture in 3 parts, beating on low until smooth.
  2. Stir in the chopped walnuts with a spatula. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and level it out. Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F (170°C) until done.
  3. For the cream, mix all the ingredients and beat until stiff peaks form. Your cream is ready!
  4. Assemble the cake as shown in the video (I crumbled the trimmings and sprinkled them on top). Decorate as you like, and enjoy your treat!
