Nutty Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- For the Cake:
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- For the Cream:
- 1 cup heavy cream (33%)
- 3.5 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add milk and vegetable oil. Combine flour and baking powder (sift it). Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture in 3 parts, beating on low until smooth.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts with a spatula. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and level it out. Bake in a preheated oven at 340°F (170°C) until done.
- For the cream, mix all the ingredients and beat until stiff peaks form. Your cream is ready!
- Assemble the cake as shown in the video (I crumbled the trimmings and sprinkled them on top). Decorate as you like, and enjoy your treat!
