Delicious Oat Bread
Ingredients
- 3 cups (400g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (100g) oats
- Pinch of salt
- 2 1/2 teaspoons (8g) instant yeast
- 4 tablespoons (70g) honey
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 2 1/2 tablespoons (35g) butter
- Egg wash (for brushing on top)
- Oats for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, salt, and instant yeast.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, eggs, water, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a loaf and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the loaves with egg wash and sprinkle oats on top for decoration.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing. Enjoy your delicious oat bread!
