Delicious Oat Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (400g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (100g) oats
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons (8g) instant yeast
  • 4 tablespoons (70g) honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons (35g) butter
  • Egg wash (for brushing on top)
  • Oats for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, eggs, water, and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a loaf and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops of the loaves with egg wash and sprinkle oats on top for decoration.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Allow the bread to cool before slicing. Enjoy your delicious oat bread!
