Apple Sheet Cake
Ingredients
- For the dough:
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons (250g) sugar
- 1 cup (250g) butter (room temperature)
- 5 eggs (medium size)
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 2 1/2 cups (300g) all-purpose flour
- Additionally:
- 5-6 apples
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- For the crumble topping:
- 1/2 cup (80g) sugar
- 1 cup (140g) flour
- 1/2 cup (100g) soft butter
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (100g) chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking sheet.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla sugar.
- Sift in the baking powder and flour, and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Spread the dough evenly onto the greased baking sheet.
- Peel and slice the apples, then arrange them in rows over the dough.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle it over the apples.
- To make the crumble topping, combine the sugar, flour, butter, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts in a bowl. Mix until crumbly, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, let the cake cool slightly before slicing into squares.
- Serve your delicious Apple Sheet Cake warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
