Ingredients

  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 1/3 cups (320 grams) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (118 ml) oil
  • 1/2 cup (118 ml) water
  • 2 2/3 cups (320 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 packet baking powder
  • 5 egg whites (beaten until stiff peaks form)
  • 17.6 ounces (500 grams) quark (20% fat)
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5 egg whites (beaten until stiff peaks form)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the egg yolks and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the oil and water to the egg yolk mixture, and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter.
  6. Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. In another bowl, mix together the quark, vanilla sugar, sugar, and egg yolks until smooth.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the quark mixture.
  9. Spoon the quark mixture over the batter on the baking sheet, creating a grid pattern.
