The Best Giotto Dream Cake


  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (approximately 200 grams)
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (approximately 200ml)
  • 1/2 cup milk (approximately 100ml)
  • 1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts (approximately 40 grams)
  • 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts (approximately 60 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (approximately 250 grams)
  • Additionally:
  • Light hazelnut cream
  • Giotto chocolates


    Baking Time:
    Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) with both upper and lower heat for approximately 35 minutes.

    Prepare the Dough:
    In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 eggs and 1 cup of sugar until well combined. Add a few drops of vanilla extract for flavor.

  1. Add Cream and Milk:
    Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 cup of milk. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Incorporate Hazelnuts:
    Fold in 1/3 cup of chopped hazelnuts and 1/2 cup of ground hazelnuts into the batter, providing a delightful nutty texture.
  3. Add Baking Powder and Flour:
    Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of baking powder and gradually add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, mixing until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  4. Prepare the Pan:
    Grease and flour your cake pan to ensure the cake doesn't stick.
  5. Pour the Batter:
    Pour the prepared batter into the cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake to Perfection:
    Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Decorate:
    Allow the cake to cool before spreading a light hazelnut cream on top and decorating with Giotto chocolates.
