Strawberry Crisp Bars
Ingredients
- Base:
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (87g)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (58g)
- 1 tablespoon white sugar (20g)
- A pinch of salt
- Strawberry Filling:
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (50g)
- 1/8 cup white sugar (40g)
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice (8g)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (4g)
- Crunchy Topping:
- 1/4 cup butter (55g)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (50g)
- 1/4 cup almonds (20g)
- 1/2 cup flour (70g)
- 1/4 cup sugar (60g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, melted butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt until crumbly.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the base.
- In a saucepan, combine the frozen strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until the strawberries are soft and the mixture thickens.
- Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the base in the baking pan.
- In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, almonds, flour, sugar, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the strawberry filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Serve and enjoy these deliciously crunchy and fruity bars!
