Delicious Honey Cake

Ingredients

  • Honey Cake:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • For the Ganache:
  • 120g milk chocolate
  • 60g heavy cream
  • For the Filling:
  • 300g your favorite firm dulce de leche
  • For the Syrup:
  • 120ml milk
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Start with the cake. Add milk to a saucepan with cloves and let it come to a boil. Turn off the heat and set aside. In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients, then add the strained milk. Stir well, and finally, add the baking powder. Mix, and pour the cake batter into a buttered 20x30cm pan. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes or until fully baked.
  2. While baking, make the syrup: combine all syrup ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Set aside. For the ganache, mix chocolate and cream in a bowl. Microwave until melted and smooth. Set aside.
  3. When the cake is done, soak it with the syrup, add the dulce de leche, close it up. Soak it again (poke holes with a fork first), finish with ganache and sprinkles. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour. Enjoy the deliciousness!
