Simple Lemon Cake
Ingredients
- For the Cake:
- 5 eggs {M}
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 1/8 cups soft butter
- 1 packet baking powder
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup milk
- Zest and juice of one organic lemon
- For the Glaze:
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice
- Additional:
- Butter for greasing the pan
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar.
- Add soft butter, baking powder, all-purpose flour, milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix until you have a smooth batter.
- Bake:
- Grease the baking pan with butter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Glaze it:
- Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to create a glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
Baking Time:
Bake at 180°C (356°F) in a conventional oven for approximately 40-45 minutes.
