Ingredients

  • For the base of both doughs⤵️
  • 3/4 cup (170g) of softened butter
  • 1 cup (220g) of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60g) of granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tablespoon (15g) of vanilla extract
  • For the classic chip mixture⤵️
  • 1 1/4 cups (160g) of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3.5 ounces (100g) of 60%-70% cacao chocolate chips
  • For the chocolate mixture⤵️
  • 1 cup (115g) of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3.5 ounces (100g) of white chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Divide the dough in half.
  5. For the classic chip mixture:
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to one half of the dough and mix until combined.
  8. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  9. For the chocolate mixture:
  10. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well.
  11. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the other half of the dough and mix until combined.
  12. Fold in the chopped white chocolate.
  13. Take about a tablespoon of each dough and gently press them together to form a ball. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  14. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
  15. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  16. Enjoy your delicious marbled cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite hot beverage!
