Indulgent Dulce de Leche Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup or 2 sticks of butter (226g)
  • 1 cup of sugar (200g)
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract (30g)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt or sour cream (120g)
  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour (180g)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 can of Dulce de Leche

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  4. Stir in the Greek yogurt or sour cream until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of Dulce de Leche over the batter.
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the Dulce de Leche layer and smooth the top with a spatula.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Once cooled, slice and serve. Enjoy the rich and flavorful Dulce de Leche cake!
