Homemade pudding pastries

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk (about 250ml)
  • Half a cube of yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar (about 50g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup soft butter (about 60g)
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (about 500g)
  • For the filling:
  • 1 packet of pudding mix (prepare according to instructions)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Additionally:
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

    Combine all ingredients except flour and butter in a bowl and mix. Add flour and butter, then knead into a soft dough. Let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes. Mix all filling ingredients. Roll out the dough into a large square. Spread the filling over the dough. Roll the dough into a large log. Cut into approximately 1.5-inch thick pieces. Press the center of each piece with a thin rod and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let it rise for another 20 minutes until almost doubled in size. Brush with egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cover immediately with a cloth after baking to keep it soft. Mix powdered sugar and milk, then drizzle over the delicious pieces. Enjoy experimenting!
