Strawberry Yeast Cake Delight
Ingredients
- 2 packets of dry yeast
- 1 cup of warm milk
- 500 g of light spelt flour
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 100 g of melted butter
- 1 egg
- Additionally:
- Fresh fruits – I used strawberries
- Crumb topping: (If you want more crumb topping, double the portion 😉)
- 20 g of butter
- 30 g of wheat flour
- 20 g of sugar
Instructions
- Mix flour with sugar, egg, warm milk, melted butter, and yeast.
- Knead the dough with a hook or by hand. If it's too liquid, add 2 tablespoons of flour. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Knead the risen dough briefly and use it to line the tray. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Arrange the fruits on the dough and sprinkle with crumb topping.
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 35 minutes.
- Finish with icing (I used powdered sugar and milk).
