Strawberry Yeast Cake Delight

Ingredients

  • 2 packets of dry yeast
  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • 500 g of light spelt flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 100 g of melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • Additionally:
  • Fresh fruits – I used strawberries
  • Crumb topping: (If you want more crumb topping, double the portion 😉)
  • 20 g of butter
  • 30 g of wheat flour
  • 20 g of sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix flour with sugar, egg, warm milk, melted butter, and yeast.
  2. Knead the dough with a hook or by hand. If it's too liquid, add 2 tablespoons of flour. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size.
  3. Knead the risen dough briefly and use it to line the tray. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Arrange the fruits on the dough and sprinkle with crumb topping.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 35 minutes.
  6. Finish with icing (I used powdered sugar and milk).
