Golden Churros Fingers
Ingredients
- DOUGH:
- ▫️ 1 cup water
- ▫️ 7 tablespoons butter
- ▫️ 2 tablespoons sugar
- ▫️ 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
- ▫️ 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- ▫️ 3 eggs
- CHOCOLATE SAUCE:
- ▫️ 3.5 ounces milk or dark chocolate
- ▫️ 1/2 cup heavy cream
- ADDITIONALLY:
- ▫️ Powdered sugar for dusting
- ▫️ About 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
In a saucepan, heat water, butter, and sugars until boiling. Reduce heat, add flour, and mix vigorously with a wooden spoon for about 2 minutes. Let it cool for a few minutes.
While still warm, add eggs one at a time to the dough, mixing well after each addition. Transfer the dough to a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
In a tall frying pan or medium-sized pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (180°C). It's recommended to use a thermometer.
Pipe the dough directly into the hot oil, cutting it with a knife. Fry for about 2 minutes, turning the churros halfway through until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon onto a paper towel-lined plate.
For the sauce, heat the heavy cream and add chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
Sprinkle churros with powdered sugar and serve with the chocolate sauce. Enjoy!
