Easy Strawberry Swirl Cake
Ingredients
- 🍁 5 eggs
- 🍁 1/2 cup of sugar
- 🍁 3/4 cup of oil
- 🍁 300g all-purpose flour
- 🍁 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 🍁 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 🍁 300g strawberries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until pale and creamy.
- Gradually add the oil while continuing to beat the mixture.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly.
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them thinly.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cake batter, pressing them in slightly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Carefully transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve the cake on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
