Easy Strawberry Swirl Cake

Ingredients

  • 🍁 5 eggs
  • 🍁 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 🍁 3/4 cup of oil
  • 🍁 300g all-purpose flour
  • 🍁 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 🍁 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 🍁 300g strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until pale and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the oil while continuing to beat the mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until well combined and smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them thinly.
  8. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cake batter, pressing them in slightly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  10. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  11. Carefully transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Slice and serve the cake on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
