Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 3/4 cup (100g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup (50g) cornstarch
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs, and beat the egg whites with sugar until fluffy, about 8 minutes.
  2. Mix the egg yolks with water and gently fold them into the egg white mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together all the dry ingredients.
  4. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a baking pan and smooth it out.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 320°F (160°C) with both top and bottom heat for about 45 minutes. (Don't forget the toothpick test)
