Super Soft and Delicious Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • For the glaze:
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 8 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy. Then add the water, cocoa powder, sugar, and mayonnaise. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour, baking soda, and baking powder to the mixture. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, cocoa powder, and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Let it boil for about 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  7. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  8. Pour the warm glaze over the warm cake, spreading it evenly.
