Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies
Ingredients
- For the Red Velvet Brownie layer:
- 1 cup (225g) melted butter
- 3/4 cup (75g) cocoa powder
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
- 1/3 cup (80g) white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon (15g) vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 cup (135g) all-purpose flour
- For the Cheesecake layer:
- 1 package (8 ounces or 220g) cream cheese
- 1/4 cup (60g) sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon (5g) vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- Prepare the Brownie layer:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and white sugar.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the red food coloring and mix until the batter is evenly colored.
- Gradually stir in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Prepare the Cheesecake layer:
- In another mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and beat until creamy and well combined.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter in the pan.
- Use a knife or spatula to swirl the cheesecake mixture into the brownie batter, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
