Orange Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (60g)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (83g)
  • 2 Oranges, sliced
  • Cake:
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (210g)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder (6g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (5g)
  • 6 tablespoons butter (90g)
  • 1 cup Condensed Milk (300g)
  • 1/3 cup sour cream (85g)
  • 2 egg whites (70g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5g)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (60g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a baking pan, pour the melted butter and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bottom. Arrange the orange slices over the sugar and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat together the butter and condensed milk. Add the sour cream, vanilla, egg whites, and orange juice, and beat until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, beating until no lumps remain.
  6. Pour the batter over the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°F (180°C) or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 30 minutes before flipping.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
