Homemade Nut Pastry
Ingredients
- For the Dough:
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- Half a cube of yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- For the Filling:
- 1.5 cups ground hazelnuts
- 1.5 cups chopped hazelnuts
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3 tablespoons milk
- For Brushing:
- 1 egg yolk
- For the Glaze:
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
- Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) in conventional mode for approximately 35 minutes.
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Combine lukewarm milk, yeast, sugar, egg, softened butter, and all-purpose flour in a bowl.
- Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough. Let it rise until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling:
- Mix ground hazelnuts, chopped hazelnuts, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and milk in a separate bowl.
- Assemble the Pastry:
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle.
- Spread the nut filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it on a baking sheet.
- Brush with Egg Yolk:
- Beat an egg yolk and brush it over the rolled pastry for a golden finish.
- Bake:
- Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for around 35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth glaze.
- Finish:
- Once the pastry is baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
