Homemade Nut Pastry

Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • Half a cube of yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Filling:
  • 1.5 cups ground hazelnuts
  • 1.5 cups chopped hazelnuts
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • For Brushing:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons milk
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) in conventional mode for approximately 35 minutes.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  2. Combine lukewarm milk, yeast, sugar, egg, softened butter, and all-purpose flour in a bowl.
  3. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough. Let it rise until doubled in size.
  4. Make the Filling:
  5. Mix ground hazelnuts, chopped hazelnuts, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and milk in a separate bowl.
  6. Assemble the Pastry:
  7. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle.
  8. Spread the nut filling evenly over the dough.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it on a baking sheet.
  10. Brush with Egg Yolk:
  11. Beat an egg yolk and brush it over the rolled pastry for a golden finish.
  12. Bake:
  13. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for around 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Prepare the Glaze:
  15. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth glaze.
  16. Finish:
  17. Once the pastry is baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
