Easy Apple Crumble Cake

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 150g (about 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons) butter
  • 120g (about 2/3 cup) sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 300g (about 2 cups) flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the filling:
  • 5 apples, peeled and grated
  • 50g (about 1/2 cup) ground nuts
  • 100g (about 1 cup) chopped walnuts
  • 50g (about 1/4 cup) sugar
  • 30g (about 2 tablespoons) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, egg, flour, and baking powder. Mix until it forms a soft dough. Press more than half of the dough into the prepared baking dish. Mix the remaining dough with 3 tablespoons of flour until crumbly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the grated apples with ground nuts, chopped walnuts, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook the mixture until the apples soften, about 5 minutes. Spread the filling evenly over the dough in the baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbly dough on top.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Allow the cake to cool for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy your delicious apple crumble cake!
