Easy Apple Crumble Cake
Ingredients
- For the dough:
- 150g (about 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons) butter
- 120g (about 2/3 cup) sugar
- 1 egg
- 300g (about 2 cups) flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- For the filling:
- 5 apples, peeled and grated
- 50g (about 1/2 cup) ground nuts
- 100g (about 1 cup) chopped walnuts
- 50g (about 1/4 cup) sugar
- 30g (about 2 tablespoons) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, egg, flour, and baking powder. Mix until it forms a soft dough. Press more than half of the dough into the prepared baking dish. Mix the remaining dough with 3 tablespoons of flour until crumbly.
- In a saucepan, combine the grated apples with ground nuts, chopped walnuts, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook the mixture until the apples soften, about 5 minutes. Spread the filling evenly over the dough in the baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbly dough on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the cake to cool for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy your delicious apple crumble cake!
