Delicious Apple Crisp
Ingredients
- 2 Granny Smith green apples
- 1 tablespoon flour (10g.)
- 1/4 cup sugar (60g.)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15g.)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Combine and let sit for 15 mins
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup oats (50g.)
- 1/2 cup flour (70g.)
- 1/4 cup sugar (60g.)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter (60g.)
- Ice cream for serving
Instructions
1. Preparing the Filling:
- Peel and slice the Granny Smith apples.
- In a bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1 tablespoon of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Mix well until the apples are evenly coated.
- Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
2. Making the Topping:
- In another bowl, combine 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Pour in the melted butter and mix until the ingredients are crumbly and well combined.
3. Assembling and Baking:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Spread the apple filling evenly in the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture, covering it completely.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Serve the apple crisp warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.
