Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast (1 package)
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • For the Cookie Dough:
  • 1 roll or package of Pillsbury Cookie Dough (eat or bake)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream
  • Handful of mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Start by microwaving the milk until it reaches about 110°F, which usually takes about 60 seconds.
  2. Pour the warm milk into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, then add the yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes to activate.
  3. Add the eggs, melted butter, and sugar to the yeast mixture and beat until just combined. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until fully incorporated. Let the dough rest for 5 minutes, then switch to a dough hook attachment and beat for 8 minutes.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 90 minutes.
  5. While the dough rises, prepare the filling by mixing together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, then sprinkle pieces of cookie dough on top. Save some for topping.
  7. Roll the dough into a log shape and slice it into large rolls, making about 9 in total.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F and place the rolls into a greased 9-10 inch skillet or baking dish. Pour heavy cream over the rolls and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls bake, make the glaze by mixing together powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth. Once the rolls are done, pour the glaze over them and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy the heavenly combination of cookie dough and cinnamon goodness!
