Ingredients

  • For the Cake Batter:
  • 4 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
  • 2/3 cup milk (150ml)
  • 2/3 cup oil (150ml)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • For the Sauce:
  • 2 cups milk (500ml)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup sugar (100g)
  • 1/2 cup oil (100ml)
  • 3.5 ounces dark chocolate (100g)
  • Baking Time:
  • In a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F), bake for approximately 25 minutes.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until creamy.
  2. Add milk and oil to the mixture, stirring well.
  3. Incorporate cocoa powder, baking powder, flour, and vanilla sugar into the batter. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, combine milk, cocoa powder, cornstarch, sugar, and oil. Heat over medium heat until it thickens.
  7. Remove the saucepan from heat, add chopped dark chocolate, and stir until smooth.
  8. Once the cake is done, let it cool slightly, then pour the chocolate sauce over it.
  9. Allow the cake to absorb the sauce, and it's ready to be enjoyed!
