Quick and Easy Cold Baklava Recipe

Quick and Easy "Cold Baklava" Recipe


  • For the Sugar Syrup:
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar (500g)
  • 1 cup water (200g)
  • 2 cups milk (500ml)
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • Combine all these ingredients in a pot, bring them to a quick boil, and then let them cool.
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup ground walnuts (200g)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (200g)
  • A dash of cinnamon
  • (Set aside some for decoration)
  • Additional Ingredients:
  • 1 pack Baklava Yufka (available at Turkish stores)
  • 1 cup melted butter (250g)
  • Cocoa powder for sprinkling


  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) with both upper and lower heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground walnuts, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon for the filling.
  3. Layer Baklava Yufka sheets in a baking dish, brushing each layer generously with melted butter.
  4. Spread the nut filling evenly over the layers.
  5. Continue layering with Yufka and butter until you run out of sheets.
  6. Cut the Baklava into desired shapes before baking.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Once out of the oven, pour the cooled sugar syrup over the hot Baklava.
  9. Let it absorb the syrup and cool down.
  10. Sprinkle cocoa powder on top for an extra touch.
