Malbec Poached Pears


  • ✔️ 6 peeled pears
  • ✔️ Lemon zest
  • ✔️ Juice of 3 lemons
  • ✔️ Juice of 2 oranges
  • ✔️ 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ✔️ 1.5 liters of Malbec wine
  • ✔️ 400g sugar


In a pot over medium heat, combine the wine, citrus juices, zest, cinnamon, and sugar. Give it a gentle mix and let it simmer for 30 minutes.

Add the pears and cook for 20 minutes on each side. Since the pears tend to float, make sure to turn them to ensure even poaching.

Allow them to cool, cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, turning them halfway through the resting time.

Remove the pears from the liquid and simmer the liquid on low heat until it thickens.

Cool the sauce, and serve the pears with whipped cream. Enjoy this exquisite dessert!
