Apple Cake


  • For the Cake Batter:
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the Apples:
  • 5-7 large apples
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons water
  • 2 heaping tablespoons cornstarch (optional)


Preparing the Apples:

  1. Grate the apples using a large grater.
  2. Add cinnamon, sugar, water, and lemon juice to the grated apples.
  3. Cook the mixture until the apples are soft.
  4. Optionally, thicken the mixture with cornstarch.

Making the Cake Batter:

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy.
  2. Reduce the speed and slowly pour in the canola oil.
  3. Add milk and mix until combined.
  4. Sift together the flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, mixing gently until combined.

Assembly and Baking:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Pour half of the batter into the bottom of a baking pan.
  3. Bake for about 15-17 minutes until partially baked.
  4. Spread the cooked apple mixture over the partially baked crust.
  5. Pour the remaining half of the raw batter over the apple mixture.
  6. Bake for about 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  7. Once done, drizzle with icing and sprinkle with almonds.
  8. Enjoy your delicious apple cake!
