Peppermint KitKat Brownies

Peppermint KitKat Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) melted butter
  • 3/4 cup (77g) cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp coffee (30g)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract (15g)
  • 1 cup (200g) white sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1 cup (150g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (6g) salt
  • Cubed semi-sweet chocolate (100g)
  • 6 KitKat® Santa bars (174g)
  • Crushed peppermint candies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan. While it’s still warm, pour it into a bowl and mix in the cocoa powder. Let it sit for 1 minute.
  3. Combine the butter-cocoa mixture with eggs, coffee, and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously. Add white and brown sugar, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the flour and salt. Add the cubed chocolate and mix it into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into a parchment-lined baking pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
  7. Place the KitKat® Santa bars on top of the brownies, pressing them down to adhere to the surface. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies and refrigerate for 3 hours.
  8. Cut into squares and enjoy the delightful combination of chocolate and peppermint!
